Scoli Acosta — Surfer and Industrial Landscape on Acrylic and Pencil on Paper
This framed mixed media work by Scoli Acosta juxtaposes the vulnerability of the human figure with the imposing presence of industrial infrastructure. The surfer, suspended between motion and imbalance, occupies a fragmented landscape where natural and manufactured environments converge.
Rendered with a collage-like sensibility, the torn paper edge remains visible, emphasizing process and materiality. The industrial plant in the background introduces a quiet tension, suggesting themes of environmental impact, displacement, and the evolving relationship between humanity and landscape.
Acosta’s work often explores narrative, memory, and cultural identity through layered visual language. This piece exemplifies his ability to merge personal symbolism with broader contemporary concerns.
