“Bloom” is a tactile, emotionally charged painting that reveals itself through surface and gesture as much as image.
Up close, the work is defined by a richly worked surface—layers of material build and collapse across the canvas, creating a shifting terrain of raised textures and subtle abrasions. Irregularities are left intentionally visible: pigments pool unevenly, and areas of density give way to thinner, more fragile passages. These disruptions aren’t flaws but part of the painting’s language, holding a sense of instability and movement.
