Gronk (Glugio Nicandro) is an influential American contemporary artist based in Los Angeles. A founding member of the groundbreaking East L.A. collective ASCO, he emerged in the 1970s as part of a generation that challenged traditional ideas of art, identity, and culture. Gronk’s expressive paintings and mixed-media works are known for their bold gesture and layered surfaces, and his work is held in major institutional collections including the Smithsonian American Art Museum and LACMA.
