This one-of-a-kind trinket box is hand-shaped from a single piece of locally sourced Camperdown Elm in Michigan. The tree fell naturally in 2018 and was reclaimed by the maker, preserving its organic contours and natural character.
No stains were used. The rich tone and variation are entirely the wood’s own. The piece is finished with a traditional blend of beeswax and orange oil, enhancing the grain while maintaining a soft, natural sheen.
The solid brass knob is made from recycled brass, adding warmth and contrast to the sculptural form while adding to the makers sustainability practice. The inside of the interior is lined in suede.
Each surface follows the original shape of the log, making this both a functional object and a small piece of natural sculpture.
