Elizabeth Janss — Framed Landscape Photograph
Photographed on film using a Pentax K1000 camera the artist has worked with since receiving it as a high school graduation present. Each image is presented unaltered to preserve the authenticity of the moment. The photographs are paired with vintage frames sourced from local thrift shops, creating a dialogue between the frames’ distinct histories and the timeless, unfiltered quality of the images.

Elizabeth Janss is a Los Angeles–based artist whose practice brings together art and science. With a background in law and neuroscience, she creates sculptures inspired by neurons, tissues, and organs, exploring how perception and emotion take physical form. She holds degrees from the University of Pennsylvania and UC Hastings College of the Law, and has studied at Penland School of Craft and The Infinite School. Her work has been exhibited with the Los Angeles Art Association, Transmission Gallery, and Tubac Center of the Arts.
